Excursions, boat trips, dolphin watching trips, and visits to theme parks can be booked at Lagos Marina or from one of the stands and shops on the main Avenida. The marina itself is offers a beautiful setting, with restaurants, cafes and bars and with the wonderful backdrop of sailing boats.
Casa Beachcomber is also an ideal location for exploring the beautiful but rugged coastline of the Western Algarve. including places such as Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, the most south-westerly point of Europe, as well as the delightful environs of the Monchique mountain range which dominates the region.
Lagos, itself, is an historic town with roots dating back to Phoenician and Roman times. It was also one of the main ports from whence sailed vessels on Portugal’s Voyages of Discovery in the 15th and 16th Centuries.
Today, Lagos is popular with visitors from Portugal and other nations. It boasts a wide range of facilities, including cafes, bars and restaurants offering mouth-watering traditional Portuguese dishes as well as international cuisine. The town has several supermarkets, the nearest being Pingo Doce, 1km distant.
